Self-Portrait

.)  I selected "Self-Portrait" by Kathe Kollowitz (1921, etching) because the portrait seemed like it had a story.  The man is leaning on his arm and looks distress about something, it makes me ask questions. I chose "Self-Portrait" by Ivan Le Lorraine Albright (1948, lithograph) because it presented itself in another manner from normal self-potraits. I also like the use of color, and the overall gray scale.  I chose "Self-portrait with Monkey" by Frida Kahlo (1938, oil on masonite) because I love the use of color and how bold the portrait it is.

.) I selected to use pencil because I think that pencil flows easier and is easy to erase and to overall work with!

.) I always found it difficult to create a self-portrait of myself, because I can never really get it to look like me.  Here, I found the same problem but I know that im not an artist so I just tried my best.  I found the eyes and the smile to be the thoughest.

.) This piece represents me because it is me, and I used a picture of me to create it.

.) I used the element of color in this piece.  I created a gray scale with shading and a pencil.

.) I felt the project was okay, and I kind of enjoyed it.  I have done self-portraits before, and they never really come out the way I would like them to.

.) Overall, my final artwork looks sort of like the picture and I tried my best.
